Enzyme-targeted detection
The BQ|200 technology is based on the detection and quantification of a naturally occurring enzyme activity. The analysis includes bacterial enzyme activity from planktonic, free-living bacteria and adherent or sessile bacteria associated with particles and biofilm sloughing. This confers an unprecedented sensitivity that allows for detection of bacterial presence before it can be recognized with traditional plate count methods.
Automated, near real time readings
The BQ|200 is a calibration free instrument and is robust and reliable in operation. The analysis time is reduced from days to minutes and provides consistent data across facilities and sites. The instrument employs an industry standard signal exchange platform, for easy implementation and data handling. This converts bioburden monitoring from a lagging laboratory measurement into an operational sensor layer.
Detection anywhere in the water system
The BQ|200 can be used to monitor a wide range of pharmaceutical water types, including purified water (PW), Water for injection (WFI), Laboratory-grade water, inlet water and wastewater. Sampling points include, but are not limited to, post treatment, buffer tanks, recirculation loops and point of use.
All operational features in one solution
BactiQuant offers an online solution that promptly quantifies the content of bacteria in pharmaceutical water systems. BactiQuant Online BQ|200 can be implemented at critical control points throughout the pharmaceutical production facilities, both existing and new production sites. The online system is easily integrated into any water system and seamlessly communicates through an advanced signal exchange platform.

Flexibility in operation
The handheld technology can be used for flexible sampling schemes based on grab sample strategies and troubleshooting, contamination tracking, and emergency response.
